Kandle's First Day of School

Kandle's first day of 3rd grade. Full of attitude and all grown up. She has picked out her clothes for the first week of school. She got her new converse and all her new Hannah Montana clothes. She just is growing up way to fast. I am excited to hear all about her first day. She has also decided to join the Girl Scouts and she is joining an after school group that is like a bible study. I am proud of her and the respect she has for her self. Even if non of her friends want to do it she will. She is truly a free spirit.

Kandle goes to camp

Kandle wanted everyone to know she has left for camp. She has gone to Gales Creek Diabetes Camp for children. She was very excited to go! She talked nonstop the whole way there and as soon as we got there she stopped. Ha! Couldn't even get her to tell the doctor her name. I stayed for about an hour to take care of everything and make sure she was ok. She looked at me then and said "you can leave now mom I'm ok". Imagine that just like her mom. :) That's my girl!! Kandle will be back from camp on Friday with lots to tell I'm sure!

First Try

Hi, My name is Kandle Werner and I am 7 years old. In January 2008 I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. I have decided to start doing fund raising to help find a cure. I am starting with Step Out Walk to Fight Diabetes. It is September 27th, 2008 in Vancouver. I am walking the 3 mile loop with my dad and step mom. My brother and mom are doing the 6 mile loop. With this blog we are hoping to find friends and family that would like to sponsor me. Every little bit helps so please don't think a dollar or two won't :).
In the fall I am also planning to talk to my school and the American Diabetes Association about doing some kind of fund raiser. So please check back to find out more!
My mom and I are talking about putting together a team for this walk to keep me company. If you would like to join us please let us know as soon as you can!
